THE GOOD FOOD CLUB

The Good Food Club is a subscription service offering a fortnightly meal box delivered to local collection points over six months between July and December. The boxes will begin with meals ready to be reheated, prepared in the Old Dairy Kitchen using fresh produce from Trill Farm Garden and other local suppliers. Every fortnight, the level of preparation will slowly increase with new skills being taught with each box, so that by the end of six months, participants are confident following a recipe and preparing a meal from a box of vegetables.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Good Food Club is aimed at anyone who would like to support local food growers and producers, learn new cookery skills and recipes whilst doing so, and be part of a growing community celebrating our local food culture.

We know that not everyone can afford our usual veg boxes or meals, so the Good Food Boxes are offered on a sliding scale, so that households can pay what they can afford (or even nothing at all).

WHAT IS THE SLIDING SCALE?

The sliding scale means that there is an affordable box for everyone. We want everybody to have access to good food, and to pay what they can afford or as they value it. The cost price is around the ‘middle income’ box price, so anyone who chooses to pay more than that is supporting our ambition to create a more equitable local food system by subsidising the cost of the lower priced or free boxes, along with the grant funding that we have received.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE BOX?

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Each box will contain:

  • Food (starting as meals and ending as ingredients) for one meal for 2 or 4 people

  • Detailed preparation guidelines

  • Links to videos demonstrating cookery skills as required

  • Conversation prompts and activities to complete during and after your meal

  • Occasionally we’ll include everything you need to sow seeds at home on your windowsill or in your garden, and kitchen equipment if required

WHAT ELSE DO I GET FOR BEING PART OF THE PROJECT?

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

We want everyone signed up to the Good Food Club to feel part of a community, so we plan to host community lunches for everyone involved at the beginning and end of the project.

We’d love for members to get involved with growing the vegetables too and will be inviting you to join volunteer days.

This year is a pilot, so we want our members to help us create something that benefits everybody! You’ll have a say in the future of the project.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?

  1. Choose what size box you’d like:

A half box is designed to feed 2 people, or provide two meals for one person

A full box is designed to feed a family of 1-2 adults and 2-3 children, or two meals for a couple

  2. Choose how much you’d like to pay. We ask that members pay what they can afford or think the box is worth. We don’t ask for any evidence of income but ask you to be honest; if we all contribute what we can afford then together we can ensure that everybody has access to good food.

  3. We’ll also ask you to choose which collection point your box will be delivered to. We have limited capacity to deliver to individual households, so please only choose this option if you are unable to get to one of the collection points.

We are now accepting subscriptions to the Good Food Club! Please sign up by Friday 23rd July to avoid missing out by clicking on the products below.
